Boots FAQs

Should I just use some water to clean my leather boots?

Well, kind of. You should use some water when cleaning your leather boots, but there is danger in using too much water. What you are most often going to want to do is get a damp cloth and then work up a lather with some gentle soap. It is not good for the leather to get very wet because the water could easily ruin the leather if it has not been properly treated. Even if the bots have been treated, there is no reason to go out of your way to make the boots wet. If you just stick to using a damp cloth or rag, you should be very well off.

What are the main factors I should consider when buying work boots?

There are a number of things that you will need to consider. First of all, it is important that you consider how comfortable the boots will be after wearing them for several hours. It is one thing to try on the boots for a couple of minutes, but something altogether different if you are wearing them all day long. Comfort is very important.

Another factor that you are going to need to consider is safety. If you are constantly working around large vehicles or heavy machinery, there is always a possibility something could go wrong. It is a good idea to have some good work boots that can help protect your feet. Steel-toed boots are often the best for protection.

Are there different kinds of rain boots I can buy?

Sometimes you are planning to be out in the rain for a long time. Other times you may get caught up in a rain storm and are trying to get out of the rain as fast as you can. There are good boots that can be helpful in both of these situations. If you are on your way to a meeting and have nice shoes on, one of the best kinds of boots that you can get are those that will simply cover up your shoes. Once you reach your destination, you can remove the covers.
